Camp Overlook Celebrates 70 Years

4-H Camp Overlook is excited to celebrate 70 years in operation this summer. While many things have changed, the essence of camp still remains the same. Camp Overlook has strived in the North Country to make the best, better for 70 summers and now year-round, and hopes to continue its legacy of amazing memories for many North Country youth.

To celebrate this year camp is holding a 70th anniversary Alumni Picnic on July 11th. The Alumni picnic is a great way for former campers and staff to return to camp and relive a little of their experience. The event will be held from 11-3, and is open to all camp alumni. The picnic will consist of hamburgers, hotdogs, and classic camp desserts (including snickerdoodles and worms and dirt!). There will also be ongoing tours of camp, games, and crafts for kids. There will be a small suggested donation to cover the cost of food.

In anticipation of the 70th Anniversary, 4-H Camp is holding a tee-shirt design contest. The design chosen will be featured on a special limited-edition tee shirt to be sold this summer only during summer camp as well as during the 70th Anniversary Alumni Picnic on July 11th. Designs must reference camp’s 70th anniversary, and must be wholly original. The winner will also receive a free tee shirt and all the glory that goes along with having your design worn by hundreds of happy campers and alumni. The contest is open to all Alumni, current Campers and Staff, and Friends of Camp. Designs must be submitted by May 15th. Submit your designs by email: campoverlook@cornell.edu or by mail: 355 West Main Street, Suite 150, Malone, NY 12953.
