Farm to School Program Coordinator

This position will serve as the Farm to School Program Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Franklin County and will provide program and administrative support for the Farm to School Program. This position will work with farms to facilitate food procurement for schools and will work with schools to connect with classrooms and teachers. This position will publicize farm to school efforts through multiple methods. This position will assist in the preparation of reports, presentations and any outreach materials to support identified projects as well as design and create program flyers and write articles for newsletters, etc. This position will conduct direct programming as needed. This position will serve as an accessible resource to program staff and volunteers as appropriate, and will utilize existing program resources and materials in program work.

POSITION DETAILS:

This position is a full-time non-exempt position - 100% FTE, 35 hours per week. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.

POSITION INFORMATION:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education (Associate’s Degree and 2 years of transferrable program/functional experience).
  • Experience relevant to the role of the position.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet the travel requirements of the position.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Cornell Cooperative Extension and/or general farm to school educational programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, teach and evaluate informal educational programs through a variety of delivery methods to reach individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member working with volunteers and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through oral, written and visual means.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize technologies for educational and communication purposes.

After-School Program Assistant

This position is classified as an Association Temporary Program position and will serve as a Program Assistant responsible for assisting the after-school program with after-school program activities that have been determined within the scope of work between Cornell Cooperative Extension of Franklin County (CCE) and the school district. This position is responsible for support to the organization within the limits of established policies, guidelines and/or procedures. This position will encourage and engage program participants to complete academic applications that improve their learning set skills. The Program Assistant will positively promote and utilize existing 4-H program activities and research-based curriculum in assisting with programming efforts. This position will be a supportive and positive role model to program participants. This position will assist with monthly meetings and activities which engage mentees and mentors in activities that are supplemental to regular programming. This position will communicate with the Program Director and report any concerns to ensure positive promotion of 4-H programming. The Program Assistant will communicate with colleagues, customers, Association leaders, and government officials in a professional manner and will appreciate and embrace diversity in all interactions with clientele, staff, volunteers, and the public. This position is responsible for carrying out other professional duties as assigned to fulfill the policies and priorities of the Association.
