Camp Akalaka - Certified Day Camp

Camp Akalaka day camp is a partnership between Cornell Cooperative Extension of Franklin County & the Greater Malone YMCA. All children ages 5-12 years of age are welcome to participate in a variety of fun summer activities. For more information, visit our NEW website: www.campakalaka.org

Camp Akalaka Weeks

Camp Runs for 10 consecutive weeks from June 25th - August 31, Monday thru Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.  There will be a field trip each week except for week 2. The weeks and trips are as follows:

1: June 25th- June 29th               Lucky Strikes Lane

2: July 2nd- July 6th ( 4 day week)  

3: July 9th- July 13th                          Wild Center, Tupper Lake

4: July 16th- July 20th                        Hiking & Fishing Excursion, Debar Pond

5: July 23rd- July 27th                        Eisenhower Power Dam & Nature Center, Massena

6: July 30th – August 3rd                  Team Building & Leadership retreat, 4-H Camp 

7:Augist 6th- August 10th                  Franklin County Fair

8: August 13th- August 17th             Beach Day (TBD)

9: August 20th – August 24th          Chateaugay Town Theater

10: August 27th- August 31st          Hike & Summit Picnic, Elephants Head


Camp Akalaka will be held at The Malone Ice Arena, 64 State Street, Malone


Camp Akalaka Fees

$125 per week / one child

    $210 per week / two siblings

      $275 per week / three siblings

Camp Akalaka is a certified day camp registered with NYS Department of Health
