Current Opportunities

Beginning Farmer Program Community Educator - Malone, NY

This position will serve as the Agriculture Community Educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Franklin County and will implement Agriculture educational programming for a menu of existing Agriculture programs in accordance with established program parameters. This position will teach the Agriculture programs in group and/or individual settings, both on and off the farm, utilizing a variety of delivery methods. Program topics will include, but not be limited to: Dairy and Livestock; Field Crops; Fruits and Vegetables; Ag Business/Finance; Beginning Farmer programs; Youth Agriculture programs; and Adirondack Harvest programs. The already-established Agriculture educational programs will be provided to program participants using a variety of delivery methods to include, but not limited to: workshops, seminars, demonstrations, interest groups, newsletters, farm visits, and mass media.

Position Details

This position is a full-time exempt position - 100% FTE with an annual salary of $40,500. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave.

Required Qualifications

oBachelor’s Degree. One (1) year volunteer or related work experience.

oValid New York State Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position

oAbility to meet acceptable background check standards (DMV and criminal background checks).

oAbility to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate
