ITHACA, NY ‐‐ Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) is proud to introduce an updated website for
New York State (NYS) outreach for the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), accessible
at fmnp.nutrition.cornell.edu. The FMNP provides checks to buy produce at farmers’ markets to
women and children enrolled in the NYS Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women,
Infants and Children (WIC) and seniors in the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).
This web resource contains up‐to‐date information about the FMNP for Consumers, CCE and
other Educators, Farmers, and Farmers’ Market Managers.
The site provides Consumers with basic information about the WIC and Senior FMNP
programs, as well as recipes with which to prepare seasonal produce, and other
resources about nutrition and physical activity.
CCE and other Educators can find FMNP‐related resources for use during trainings for
professionals, and nutrition education programming with consumers. Educators can
download a guided webinar to use while training nutrition educators, farmers and
market managers about the FMNP program. The website also includes a variety of
customizable resources such as educational fliers in English and Spanish, an FMNP
brochure, and seasonal and technique‐based recipes.
The updated FMNP website gives Farmers and Farmers’ Market Managers an overview
of program participation requirements, with links to NYS Department of Agriculture and
Markets for enrollment procedures. Farmers and market managers also can access a
guided webinar on FMNP program operations.
