Bulldog Hour

Funded 100% through program participation fees, Bulldog Hour serves 45 youth in grades Pre-K through 6th at the Chateaugay Central School District (CCS). In its first year, Program Director, Abby Langdon works closely with CCS administration to offer a comprehensive afterschool program highlighting school enrichment activities, academic tutoring, homework assistance, mentoring, healthy living, leadership and team building initiatives.

Bulldog Hour program assistant, Arielle Holmes, reads a group of pre-k youth before heading to the gym to participate in gross motor activities.

Unique to Bulldog Hour is teen mentors as CCE staff. Three high school students are hired at minimum wage to work with program participants as teen academic mentors under the supervision of adult staff. This first time job experience will better prepare them as they enter the workforce and/or college.

Collaborators: Chateaugay Central School District, Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), Township/community of Chateaugay
