4-H Horse Camp 2026

4-H youth will be bringing their horses and ponies to “kick” off the summer season with classes including horsemanship, equitation, jumping, trail, showmanship, horse health care, farrier science, braiding, banding, clipping, barrel racing, driving, and first aid for horse and rider. Crafts will be horse themed and there will be a Tack & Clothing Swap and Sale. 

May 15-17, Fr Co Fairgrounds. Open to all 4H youth in Franklin county and 4H Horse Program youth in surrounding counties. The Horse Camp Packet with all the info you need will be sent to you via email. Mini Horse and Donkey Classes will be at Horse Camp and another Camp with Donkey additional training will be held in June (Date and place TBA)! 

Coggin’s Certificate must be 2025 or 2026. Rabies certificates must be within 365 days. 

No horse? Yes, you may attend “horseless” and participate in hands-on activities. Just want to watch and learn? Sure! We welcome new-comers.

Fee: $35 per youth. Not to exceed $45 for multiple youth in same family. Check made out to: Cornell Cooperative Extension, 355 West Main St, Malone, NY 12953. Camper space w/full Hook Up $35- Must Make check payable (or cash) to Franklin County Ag Society and bring to office or give to Pat at Horse Camp. DO NOT combine Horse Camp payment with Camper Payment, please. Camping in the 4H Building-No charge. No staying in vehicles in the parking lot. COGGINS-2025/2025 RABIES WITHIN 365 DAYS. Send CLEAR copies, preferably NOT pictures from you phone. ASAP to pab21@cornell.edu or drop copy off at the CCE office in Malone. Please-only one 4H'er information per form. All Riders must have an ASTM certified helmet and suitable equestrian boots. NOTE: Mini Classes & Donkeys! We will also have a Mini Camp Day at Barefoot Acres.
