Master Home Food Preservation Course

On August 27 & 28, Cornell Cooperative Extension Certified Master Food Preservation experts, Pat Banker and Ceely King, will be offering an extensive Certified Master Home Food Preserver Class at the Early Childhood Development Program kitchen on Library Road, Hogansburg, NY.
The course is 2 full days of intense classroom and hands-on instruction using both boiling water bath and pressure canning of a variety of products including jelly, tomato sauce, pickles, meats and vegetables. Participants will also work with freezing methods, dehydration of fruits and vegetables, and making safe and delicious jerky. Participants will take a pre-test and upon taking an exam at the end of the 2-day class, will receive a certificate. All materials, Master Home Preserver manual, and light, working lunch are provided.
All home food preservation methods are science based and tested for safety and taste. Participants will leave with the knowledge of how to safely preserve foods for their families. Products made will be taste tested, judged by the class and all samples will go home with participants.
